Oasis of Time

Tutankhamun smiled and nodded. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Nor shall I," he whispered to her.

Amelia smiled. "Could....could i tell you something?"

The Pharaoh paused. "Of course," he replied softly. "What is it?"

"That is...I think....I'm pregnant..." Amelia said as she blushed.

Tutankhamun stared at her quietly for a moment before glancing through the water to her stomach. "You are?" he asked.

Amelia nodded, not sure what his reaction would be.

A range of emotions flashed through his eyes before they rested on sadness. "But, you're going home soon," he said quietly. "What will happen then?" He frowned. "What, what will your father think?"

"Well...my father will disown me and I'll raise the child by myself" Amelia said, putting a hand on her stomach.

Tutankhamun nodded slightly, watching her and he bowed his head, although a determined look flashed through his eyes. "Where is it you said you lived?" he asked quietly. "What year? What area?"

Amelia blinked at his questions. "1901, New York downtown...My family moved there from england so just ask where the english family is any anyone knows..."

Tutankhamun smiled. "You make it sound like I'll be catching up with you," he said softly. Little did she know...

"How could that ever be possible.." Amelia said, thinking of the assassination tears began to fall from her eyes.

The Pharaoh sighed and stepped into the small pool with her, sitting beside her and wrapping his arms around her. "it may not even happen now," he said softly. "You've warned me of it, now I know to watch out."

Amelia nodded, sniffling as she hugged him tightly.

Tutankhamun sighed and lightly kissed her forehead, holding her close and gently rocking with her.

Amelia calmed down, keeping close to him.

Tutankhamun lightly stroked her hair, resting his cheek against the side of her head.

Amelia kissed his lips softly.

The Pharaoh smiled faintly into the kiss and gently returned it.

Amelia broke the kiss and whispered into his ear. "i love you"

Tutankhamun fought back the wave of emotion that suddenly swept over him and he smiled. "And I love you," he whispered, lightly caressing her cheek.

Amelia smiled, hugging him tightly as her body pressed against his.

The young Pharaoh held her close to him, as if trying to seal her away safely within him for all eternity. He smiled faintly. "Take care of our child," he whispered softly to her.

"I will" Amelia said softly, tears in her eyes once more.

Tutankhamun smiled and nodded, kissing her lips again. "I know you will," he said softly. He chuckled. "It will be one hell of a miracle child," he said to her. "Not many people from your time can say their father was a Pharaoh of Egypt."
