Oasis of Time

"It's my time, where I was born. It's all I know..." she whispered softly.

The male sighed, gently pulling her into his arms. "Then, a part of me wishes you never have to return to that," he whispered to her. "Being treated like that is no way for a woman to live."

"As I recall from history women here are not a whole lot better...why is it you think so differently?" Amelia asked, looking up at him as he pulled her into his arms.

Tutankhamun smiled. "Perhaps your history is not as correct as you are led to believe," he said softly to her. "Or perhaps it's just me." He shrugged. "As I said before, you wouldn't understand if I told you."

"You're right...I don't understand" Amelia said, moving out of his grasp.

Tutankhamun sighed, watching her before he bowed his head slightly. He nodded once and stepped away from her. "I suppose I'll go see what the Priests have come up with on how to get you home," he muttered before turning and leaving her alone in the garden.

Amelia sighed, watching him go. She'd been standing there maybe 10 minutes before she started feeling dizzy. She brought a hand to her head, wondering if she was a bit ill.

A maid noticed her and paused before going out to her. "Mistress?" she asked softly. "Are you alright, Mistress?"

"I'm feeling a bit ill...I'm going to lay down..." Ariel whispered, unsteadily going back to her room.

The maid helped her back to her room. "Would you like some water?" she asked softly.

"yes please" Amelia said, laying down on the bed, sighing as she was thankful for it's softness.

The maid bowed slightly and left to get her a glass of cold water and a bowl for a cloth to place over her forehead.

Amelia wasn't feverish, just a tad dizzy. She hugged the pillow, yawning.

The maid set the bowl and cloth on the small table and handed the glass to Amelia. "What ailments do you have?" she asked.

"Just dizzy...when I stand up" Amelia said, sipping the water.

The maid nodded. "If you get feverish or come down with any other ailments, let me know, alright?" she asked softly. "You just rest and take it easy now."

"Alright.." Amelia said before yawning again, tired.

The maid nodded and left, leaving her to rest.

Amelia went to sleep, waking up several hours later.

A maid was just setting down a tray of fresh fruits for her when she woke up and the young woman smiled at her. "How was your sleep?" she asked.

"refreshing, i feel better" Amelia said before sitting up and the world spun. "maybe not.."

The maid sighed and frowned. "Are you still dizzy?" she asked softly.

"Yeah...but still hungry" Amelia said, grabbing a piece of fruit to eat.

The maid nodded, pushing the tray of fruits closer. "Eat as many as you wish," she said to her.

"Thank you' Amelia said, munching away until she realized she'd finished the whole tray.
